ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana men's lacrosse (9-5, 2-3) will travel to Naperville, Ill. for a neutral site conference matchup with league newcomer Transylvania University. The Vikings will look to end their regular season with a victory and potentially clinch a berth in the CCIW Tournament.
Transylvania enters the weekend with an overall record of 9-4 and a 2-2 resume in CCIW action. The Pioneers fell in their last contest against Carthage by a 9-6 score. Transylvania will battle the hosts from North Central on Friday evening before taking on Augie on Saturday afternoon.
Dalton Hubbs leads the Pioneers in points with 46. Hubbs has scored a team-high 35 goals and made 11 assists. Other key offensive contributors include Andrew Hamill with 32 goals, Bryce Lowe with 26 goals, and Kayd Aquino with 15 assists. Defensively, a trio of Pioneers have caused at least 20 turnovers with AJ Teague's 25 leading the group. Connor Haney has been the primary goalkeeper for Transylvania with 89 total saves and 78 goals allowed with a 6-2 win-loss record.
Augustana has faced Transylvania on two previous occasions. The two teams split the two matchups with Augustana winning in 2015 and the Pioneers taking the most recent game in 2019.
