ELMHURST, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team will be back in action on Wednesday, April 27 for the first of two straight road games to close out the season, beginning with the Elmhurst Bluejays.

Augie is coming off of a 22-8 senior day defeat to the Carthage Firebirds on Saturday. Claire Kim got the Vikings on the board first early on, but were met with six straight scores from Carthage. Another goal from Kate Hettiger inched Augie closer, but a big run to close out the first half put the visitors up 15-2 at the break. It was a much more evenly-played second half, with Carthage posting a plus-one differential the final 30 minutes of action. Three seniors - Hettiger, Sydney Rector, and Margaret Cecilio - accounted for the final three goals for the Vikings.

Elmhurst enters Wednesday with an 0-11 overall record and 0-5 mark in league action. The team was defeated by a score of 20-3 to North Central in their most recent outing. The Bluejays have scored over four goals just once this season in a 12-11 loss to Franklin earlier this season. They have lost 26 consecutive games dating back to their last win on March 6, 2019 over Olivet.

Augustana has never lost to Elmhurst, posting a 6-0 record over the Bluejays in their all-time series. The Vikings picked up an 18-0 win in their las meeting back in 2020.

Start time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Live video and live stats will be available for the contest.
