CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's volleyball team will head back on the road on Saturday, March 5 as they gear up to take on the North Park Vikings in a CCIW contest.
Augie is fresh off of a home sweep of the Illinois Wesleyan Titans this past Tuesday. The Vikings saw fast starts in both the first and third set that resulted in identical 25-17 scores, with the second set proving to be a come-from-behind victory for Augustana.
Aiden Bond concluded his night with a match-high 11 kills, while
Aidan Bolen had seven, followed by five from
Ben Schultz.
Matthew Degnan also posted a match-high with 14 assists, while
Max Sellers secured 12 digs. As a team, the Vikings hit .314 overall. The win moved Augie 3-0 all-time against Illinois Wesleyan.
North Park enters Saturday with a 7-7 overall record and 1-4 mark in the CCIW. The team began the year 6-1, but had since lost seven in a row before breaking the skid in their last match, a 3-0 on the road over Millikin.
Augustana has never lost to North Park in their short series history, winning all five matches played. Augie won the last encounter in back in March 2021 by a score of 3-0 at home.
Start time was originally planned for 7:00 p.m., but has since been moved up to begin at 5:00 p.m.
