ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana men's lacrosse (0-2) will hit the road this weekend for the first of two-straight games away from home. The Vikings will head to Michigan for a battle against the Hornets of Kalamazoo College.
Kalamazoo enters the weekend with a 1-2 record in the early stages of the 2022 season. The Hornets began the year with two-consecutive losses at Lawrence Tech and versus Concordia Michigan, both of which by three goals or fewer. Kalamazoo's lone victory came in their last game on Mar. 2 in a 16-15 thriller over Marian.
The Hornets' offense has been led by Dylan McGorisk with 10 total points on a team-high six goals and four assists. Other key attacking contributors include Logan Gillis with five goals and Jack Loveland with four goals and four assists. Dylan Wickey has been the only goalie in net so far for Kalamazoo. The sophomore keeper has recorded 38 saves on a 52.8 save percentage thus far.
Augustana is looking for their first victory of the season after a 0-2 start. The Vikings will continue to ride their balanced offensive attack led by senior
Sam Shaver and solid defense including
Paul Huber and goalkeeper
Cameron Duffy.
Saturday's matchup will be the first-ever between Augustana and Kalamazoo.
