ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's volleyball team will return home for their penultimate contest of the regular season on Wednesday, March 30 when they host the North Park Vikings in the first of two straight at home to close out the season.

The Vikings were defeated in their last outing by the Illinois Wesleyan Titans on Sunday, falling by a score of 3-1 following four competitive sets. Illinois Wesleyan took the first two of the match, but Augie grabbed game three 27-25 to extend the match. It was another close battle in the fourth set, leading to ties at 20, 22, and 23 points. The Titans saw match point for the second straight set following an attack error from Augie and this time were able to capitalize as an ensuing kill gave them the 3-1 match win. Aidan Bolen led the offensive attack for the Vikings with 11 kills.

North Park enters Wednesday with a 13-12 overall record and 4-6 mark in the CCIW. The Vikings from Chicago were defeated in a non-conference matchup with California-Santa Cruz in their last outing by a score of 3-1. North Park also defeated Millikin in a conference contest earlier that same day.

In their previous meeting in Chicago back on March 5, North Park came back from a 2-1 deficit to knock of Augustana 3-2. North Park jumped out to a quick 7-2 lead in the final set, but Augie charged back to tie the score at 8-8. From there, North Park secured the next two points to give them the slight advantage and after one more Augustana point, the home team rattled off five consecutive scores to seal the match victory.

Augustana is 5-1 all-time vs. North Park.
