ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team will remain home for their next contest on Tuesday, March 29 when they host the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees in their final non-conference game of the season.
The Vikings are coming off of their third consecutive win and fourth in the last five tries on Saturday against the Beloit Buccaneers. It was an all-around performance for Augie on both sides of the ball, tying a season-best 12 goals in the opening half on their way to a 16-4 victory. Seven different members scored at least one goal for Augustana and four posted at least three in the game.
Sydney Rector secured a team-high four goals, while
Kate Hettiger,
Margaret Cecilio, and
Cassidy Petrie all finished with three. Petrie also added a game-high three assists. The four goals allowed for the Vikings is a season-low.
St. Ambrose enters Tuesday's matchup with a 6-2 overall record and 4-1 mark in road games. The Bees have split their last four contests after beginning the season with a perfect 4-0 record. In their most recent outing they defeated the Ottawa Braves in a conference game by a score of 15-11. Tuesday's game in Rock Island will be the fifth and final game of five straight on the road for St. Ambrose.
Despite the close proximity, this will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
Start time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. from Thorson-Lucken Field.
