ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team will return home on Saturday, March 26 following three straight games on the road as they welcome in the Beloit Buccaneers for a non-conference battle.

The Vikings are coming off of their second consecutive win and third in the last four tries on Thursday against the Marian Sabres. Augie outscored Marian 4-0 in the opening quarter to give them early momentum. Cassidy Petrie notched the game's first scores two minutes in, followed by one from Sydney Rector later on. Margaret Cecilio rounded out the opening period with back-to-back scores in the final four minutes to bring the 4-0 advantage into the second. Augie proceeded to win the second and third quarters to build their lead and eventually hold on with a 12-7 final. Cecilio finished the contest with seven goals and assist to lead the team. Rector had two scores and two assists.

Beloit enters the weekend with a 1-2 record this season. The Buccaneers have played two common opponents with Augustana in just their three games, mirroring the Vikings' results with a win over Augsburg and a loss to Cornell in their most recent outing by a score of 9-3.

The two teams will be meeting for just the third time ever on Saturday and first since 2014. The Vikings are 2-0 all-time against the Buccaneers, winning the last encounter eight years ago by a score of 21-4.

Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. from Thorson-Lucken Field. Live video and live stats will both be available for the contest.
