FOND DU LAC, Wis. -- The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team will play in their final of three straight games on road on Thursday, March 24 when they take on the Marian Sabres in a non-conference contest.
The Vikings are coming off an 18-10 win over the Augsburg Auggies on Tuesday, a game in which they saw their hightest point total of the season. Augustana put together back-to-back six-goal frames to begin the game, taking a 12-5 lead into halftime. Eight different Augie players notched at least one goal, spearheaded by
Cassidy Petrie's five. Two others in
Sydney Rector and
Kyla Painter tallied three apiece, while
Claire Kim and
Kate Hettiger also secured multi-score performances.
Hannah Collins and
Rachel Forman combined for ten saves in net.
Marian enters Thursday with an 0-5 record so far this year. The Sabres have struggled offensively in their five losses, averaging just under four goals per contest so far this season. Thursday will be Marian's first home game of the season after playing their first five on the road. The Sabres were defeated by Wartburg in their most recent outing by a score of 15-5.
