NAPERVILLE, Ill. – NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Augustana's
Mark Teschke and Elmhurst's Noah Mickelson were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Lacrosse Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday. Teschke's selection marked the second time this season an Augustana men's lacrosse athlete was chosen as a player of the week.
Teschke, a senior attacker from Orland Park, Illinois and Carl Sandburg High School, tallied 11 goals for the 2-0 Vikings last week. He finished with five goals and four ground balls in a 10-6 win over Dubuque on March 16. Teschke followed up with six goals and three ground balls in a 15-3 win over Marian on March 19. Teschke currently leads the Vikings with 19 goals this season.
Mickelson, a sophomore goalie from Mattawan, Michigan and Mattawan High School, was in goal for both of Elmhurst's wins last week. He made eight saves in a 23-6 win over Benedictine on March 17, followed by 16 saves in an 8-6 win at Rhodes on March 20. Mickelson also helped the Bluejay defense with a 97 percent clear percentage (28-of-29) against Rhodes and 100 percent (19-of-19) against Benedictine. Additionally, he finished with a 67 percent save percentage over the two contests.
