DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings men's volleyball team will remain on the road for their next contest on Saturday, March 19 when they visit the Loras Duhawks in a CCIW matchup.

Augie is coming off a 3-0 defeat to No. 3 Carthage in Kenosha on Wednesday, their first contest after a week-and-a-half break. The Vikings endured major scoring runs in all three sets from the Firebirds as the home team doubled two 15-10 leads in each of the first two games. Each time the Vikings were able to counter with consecutive scores themselves, but could not put together a comeback threat and Cathage eventually won with a final of 3-0. Aidan Bolen led Augustana with four kills.

Loras enters Friday with a 16-3 overall record and 5-2 mark in CCIW play. The Duhawks have hovered around the AVCA top 15 poll and were ranked No. 15 the last time they squared off with Augie. The team will host No. 2 Dominican Friday night before hosting the Vikings on Saturday. Loras has dropped two of their last three matches, but picked up a 3-0 win over Illinois Wesleyan in their most recent outing.

The Duhawks defeated the Vikings in their previous encounter this season in Rock Island by a score of 3-0. The Vikings are 5-2 all-time against the Duhawks, but have lost two straight in the series.
