ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana men's lacrosse (2-2) is looking for their third-straight win tomorrow with a mid-week non-conference matchup. The Vikings will host the University of Dubuque on Wednesday, Mar. 16.
The Vikings return home to Thorson-Lucken Field for the first of two consecutive home games. Augie is riding a two-game winning streak after picking up road wins at Kalamazoo and Northwestern of Minnesota.
Dubuque enters the week with a 1-4 overall record. The Spartans opened their season with three-straight losses, two of which came to other CCIW opponents Carthage and Illinois Wesleyan. Dubuque earned their first win on Mar. 9 at home against Concordia Wisconsin before dropping their most recent tilt to Benedictine.
The Spartans are averaging under six goals per game while allowing over 11 scores per contest. Giovanni Silva leads UD with eight total goals while Ben Farraday has scored six. Farraday is also one of three Spartans with three assists.
In goal for the Spartans, Ryan Gartner has started all five games thus far. Gartner has allowed 57 total goals and recorded 68 saves for a .544 save percentage.
The Vikings and Spartans have met up on seven previous occasions with Augustana dominating the series. Dubuque has never beaten the Vikings since the series began in 2014. Most recently, Augustana defeated UD 12-7 in 2021.
