ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana men's lacrosse (1-2) will attempt to build upon their first win of the season with another non-conference road match on Saturday, Mar. 12. The Vikings will travel to St. Paul, Minn. for a tilt against the Eagles of Northwestern.
Augustana recently celebrated their first victory of the 2022 season. The Vikings took care of Kalamazoo in a 12-5 victory. In that contest, the Viking offense demonstrated their most consistent and impressive outing of the year with six fourth-period goals, four of which coming from senior
Mark Teschke.
Northwestern enters the weekend with one game under their belt so far in 2022. The Eagles opened their campaign with a 17-7 loss at fellow CCIW program Elmhurst University.
In their loss to Elmhurst, the Eagles gave up seven goals in the first period and five in the second to take a 12-3 lead at halftime. Northwestern's Isaac Geurink was the only Eagle to score multiple goals in the losing effort.
Saturday's matchup will be the third-ever between Augustana and Northwestern. The Vikings own a 2-0 advantage in the series with a 12-3 beat down in 2018 and a 15-7 win in 2021.
