ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – After multiple schedule changes, the Augustana baseball team (6-3) will finally be taking the field at Swanson Stadium for the 2022 home opener. The Vikings will host UW-Eau Claire on Sunday, Mar. 13 for a double-header starting at 11:30 A.M.
 
This weekend's games will be the first for Augustana since they split four games at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. The Vikings will return to Florida next week for several games at the RussMatt Invitational.
 
UW-Eau Claire is currently 2-1 this season with a pair of narrow victories in non-conference action. The Blugolds began the season with a 5-3 loss to fellow CCIW foe Carroll and a 5-4 win over Illinois Tech. Most recently, UW-Eau Claire dropped a decisive 10-2 ballgame to Carleton College at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
 
The Blugold offense is led by the top of their order in David Janssen and Nate Witte. The first two hitters in UWEC's order have combined for eight hits in their first three games.
