ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's volleyball team will return home for their next contest on Tuesday, March 1 when they host the Illinois Wesleyan Titans in a conference clash from inside the Carver Center.
The Vikings are coming off of a stretch of matches against three teams ranked in the ACVA top 15 national poll and one versus a team that was previously ranked in the top five and is currently outside. In their most recent outing against Benedictine, the Vikings were dropped by a score of 3-0 in a non-conference matchup on the road. A day prior, Augie fell to No. 4 North Central.
Aidan Bolen led the team in kills in both outings, finishing with six in each.
Illinois Wesleyan enters Tuesday with a 6-8 record overall and 1-3 mark in conference play. The Titans have lost four of their last five contests against a similar stretch of opponents the Vikings have encountered recently, losing to Carthage, Loras, and North Central-- all ranked teams. In their most recent match, Illinois Wesleyan was defeated in four sets by Carthage. The Titans won the opening game against the Firebirds 26-24, but fell in the next three.
The Vikings were victorious in the only two all-time meetings between the two programs, winning both matches a season ago by scores of 3-0.
Start time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
