LISLE, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's volleyball team fell in a non-conference road contest on Sunday, defeated by the Benedictine Eagles by a score of 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-13).
The Eagles jumped out to a quick double-digit lead early on in set one and maintained that throughout to bring the match to 1-0 in their favor. The two teams traded scores for the beginning of the second, with the Vikings within a point at 11-10 before the Eagles broke things open with a 12-2 run to pull away and win their second consecutive set by double figures. Another mid-game spurt in the third allowed Benedictine to double up Augie at 20-10 and eventually finish the home sweep.
Aidan Bolen led the Vikings in kills in the match, finishing with six.
The Vikings drop to 5-10 overall on the season and will return home for a CCIW battle with Illinois Wesleyan on Tuesday, March 1 at 7:00 p.m.
