Box Score GRINNELL, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings men's tennis team was defeated on the road on Saturday in a rematch of last year's NCAA Tournament opening round battle, falling to the Grinnell Pioneers by a score of 9-0.

The Vikings battled tough in doubles but eventually dropped all three to face an early deficit heading into singles play. Arthur Hermange and Kyle Boudreau were narrowly defeated at the No. 2 spot by a score of 8-7.

In singles, the Pioneers took all six spots, but saw fights from the Vikings throughout. Hermange took his opponent in the No. 1 position to a third set after winning the opening one by a score of 6-2. Leonardo Panosso dropped two close frames at No. 2, falling his counterpart 7-5, 6-4.

"It was a tough one today," said head coach David DeSimone. "We played well in stretches but couldn't quite put it together for full matches."

The Vikings are back in action on Sunday on the road against Coe. Start time is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
