ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's volleyball team will remain home for their next contest on Tuesday, February 22 when they welcome in the first-place and one-loss Loras Duhawks to the Carver Center

The Vikings enter Saturday 5-7 and 1-1 in conference following a 3-0 defeat to No. 8 Carthage on Saturday. The Firebirds used late-set runs in each of the three games to pull away from the Vikings. Augie nearly completed a first-set comeback, but was held off by Carthage. Aiden Bond and Josh Van Essen each had five kills to lead the Vikings.

Loras currently sits at 11-1 overall and 2-0 in the CCIW. Their lone loss on the season came at the Fontbonne Invitational last weekend, falling in five to the Trine Thunder. The Duhawks have defeated North Park and Illinois Wesleyan so far this conference season and are 7-0 against common opponents they share with Augustana. In their most recent outing, they secured the final two sets after splitting a pair against North Park to win by a score of 3-1.

The Vikings are 5-1 all-time against the Duhawks, but lost in their most recent matchup last season by a score of 3-0. Augie is 2-0 against Loras inside the Carver Center.
