ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's basketball team will return home for the final game of the 2021-22 regular season on Saturday, February 19 when they welcome in the No. 6 ranked and CCIW regular season champion Illinois Wesleyan Titans.

The Vikings hit the court after a week off, picking up an 87-66 win in their most recent contest last Saturday at Carthage. Dan Carr had a career night for the Vikings, tallying 26 points to go with 24 rebounds. The 24 boards found Carr in the Augie record book, securing the most rebounds in a single game since 1981 and tied for the fourth-most ever. He also enters the Carthage record book as the most rebounds ever allowed by a Firebirds opponent. Joining Carr on the offensive attack in the win was Luke Johnson, who tallied 14 points to go with five rebounds and six assists. Tyler Knuth also tallied double digits, ending his night with 12 points on four made threes. The Vikings ended the game shooting 48.5 percent from the field and over 50 percent from behind the arc.

On Wednesday, Augustana clinched a spot in the upcoming CCIW men's basketball tournament with North Park's loss to Wheaton. The Vikings have now made the CCIW tournament 17 consecutive years and have never missed it since it was introduced. The next highest current streak in the league belongs to North Central, who has now made the tournament eight straight seasons.

Illinois Wesleyan is coming off of a 78-65 home victory over North Central on Wednesday. The win claimed them the 2021-22 CCIW regular season title outright. The Titans are 20-4 on the season and 13-2 in conference play. They are up to No. 6 in the country in the latest d3hoops top 25 poll.

The Titans escaped with a five-point home victory in their first meeting this season, hitting a late three to stretch the game to a two-possession advantage in the final seconds. Illinois Wesleyan leads the all-time series between the two 97-78.

Tip is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Augustana men's basketball will honor its two seniors, Justin Bottorff and Luke Johnson, prior to tip-off.
