CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's basketball team will resume conference action on Saturday, December 10 when they visit the North Park Vikings on the road.

Augie comes in with a 2-6 overall record and 1-1 mark in the CCIW. The team fell in their most recent outing, a non-conference bout at Dubuque by a final of 65-59. The Vikings knocked down six threes in the opening half and held the Spartans to just 30 percent shooting on their way to a 33-24 halftime lead. The margin for Augie grew to as many as 13 in the second half, but the home team chipped away at their deficit and eventually took the lead with five minutes remaining. Augustana snagged back the advantage briefly, but were met with efficient shooting from both the floor and free-throw line from the Spartans to close the game. Daniel Carr led the way with 22 points and 12 rebounds for the Vikings. Tyler Knuth added 13 off the bench.

North Park enters the weekend receiving votes in the latest D3hoops.com top 25 poll. The Vikings currently sit 6-1 on the season and 2-0 in the CCIW. North Park defeated Millikin on the road in their conference opener by just two points and followed it up with a 34-point road victory over North Central. Saturday will be the team's first home game of the conference state. The Vikings' lone loss come at the hands of Hope back November 19. North Park currently boasts four players averaging double figures in scoring, led by Marquise Jackson's 16.6 points per game average.

This weekend will be the 128th meeting between the two programs, with Augustana holding an 86-41 advantage in the all-time series. The two teams split their matchups last season, each winning on the other's home floor. North Park defeated Augustana in Rock Island by a score of 60-58 before Augie won in Chicago by a final of 91-60. Augustana has won 10 of the last 11 encounters.
