ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's soccer team will return to Thorson-Lucken Field on Saturday, October 8 as they continue conference play with a matchup against the Millikin Big Blue.
Augie was defeated by Illinois Wesleyan in their last outing to move their record to 6-4-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the CCIW. The Titans grabbed their first goal less than two minutes into the game, adding their second and third early on in the second half.
Maeve Sheridan led Augustana's offensive efforts with three shots.
Molly Fank had both of her attempts go on target, while
Janey Castoe grabbed six saves in net.
Millikin comes in sporting a 3-4-2 overall record and 1-2 mark in conference action. The Big Blue snapped a four-game losing streak in their most recent contest, defeating North Park with a final of 1-0. In Millikin's four losses this season, they have been outscored 22-1. In their three wins, they hold a positive margin of 8-1.
The Vikings have never lost to the Big Blue, holding a 25-0-1 advantage in the all-time series. Augustana won last year's encounter in Rock Island by a final score of 2-0. Augie has won each of their 10 meetings by way of a shutout, having not allowed a goal to Millikin since their 4-2 win back in 2010.
