NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Three members of the Augustana Vikings women's soccer team were named to the 2022 All-CCIW Teams, the conference announced on Friday.
Liesl Whitener earned First Team honors for the second consecutive season, also making it the 18th straight season the Vikings have had at least one student-athlete land on First Team. The junior leads the team with eight goals and five assists in 2022 despite missing five games. She also ranks second on the Vikings in shots with 38, with 22 coming on target. She currently sits in the top six in the CCIW in goals, assists, and points and is top ten in both shots and shots on goal, having played the least amount of games of anyone on those lists.
Kim Vulic earned All-CCIW Second Team in her first season with Augustana and third on the team in goals and shots. Two of her five scores this season have been game-winning goals, including a late penalty kick in the team's win earlier this season at Wheaton, giving the Vikings their first victory over the Thunder since 2015. Vulic ranks ninth in the CCIW in that category.
For the second consecutive season,
Molly Fank has earned all-conference recognition, landing herself on Second Team this year. The defender has two goals this season, a career high, and one assist. She secured a game-winning score in the team's season-opening victory over Central and has helped anchor an Augie defense that has boasted five shutouts in 2022.
This season marks the fourth-straight that Augustana has had at least three members earn all-conference.
Maeve Sheridan was this year's recipient of the CCIW's RESPECT Award.
