NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Augustana men's soccer wraps their season on Wednesday, clashing against the undefeated and No.12 ranked North Central Cardinals at Benedetti Wehrli Stadium.
Augustana is coming off a Saturday night road loss to the Carroll Pioneers by a 6-0 score. The Vikings simply could not get anything going offensively in the contest, as they were outshot by a 24-4 margin. Goalkeepers for Augie tallied six total saves, but couldn't escape the shot differential and aggression from Carroll.
North Central enters the matchup undefeated on the season, boasting a 13-0-4 (6-0-1 CCIW) record. The Cardinal's 17-game undefeated streak is the longest in program history, soundly justifying their recent top-12 promotion. In their most recent match, the Cardinals defeated Illinois Wesleyan by a 3-2 final score.
Augustana holds a 19-17-3 all-time record against North Central, with their last meeting resulting in a 5-2 home loss to the Cardinals. North Central has scored no less than two goals in their last 11 matchups, so the Vikings will have to be stout on defense if they hope to stop the Cardinal attack.
Start time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Live video can be found here.
