WAUKESHA, Wis. -- Augustana men's soccer begins a two-game road stretch on Saturday, facing off against the Carroll Pioneers at Neis Field.
Augustana played Wheaton on Wednesday night in their final home game, which resulted in a 3-1 loss to the Thunder. The lone goal for the Vikings came off of the foot of Valdemar Nihlen right before the half, giving Nihlen two goals in his last three contests. The Vikings hurled four shots at Wheaton in the second half, but could not get passed the Thunder back line.
Carroll possesses an overall record of 7-9-0 and 2-4-0 in the CCIW as they return home to face Augie. The Pioneers are coming off of a road loss to UW-Eau Claire, ending in a 2-1 final favoring the Blugolds. The Pioneers have mustered just 16 shots in their last two matchups, opening up an opportunity for the Vikings to play aggressive this Saturday
Augustana holds a 3-2-0 all-time record against Carroll, with their last meeting resulting in a 5-1 road loss to the Pioneers in 2021.
