ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's soccer team will remain home for their next outing on Saturday, October 15 when they host the Adrian Bulldogs in a non-conference contest.

Augie improved to 7-5-2 on the season following a 3-0 shutout win over the Elmhurst Bluejays on Wednesday. Maeve Sheridan struck first for the Vikings in the 18th minute, taking a pass from Liesl Whitener to give Augie the early 1-0 lead. The one-goal differential stood firm for nearly 20 minutes until Whitener connected on the team's second score, sending one into the back of the net unassisted. Kayla Garcia added an insurance goal in the second half to make it 3-0 as Abby DeGustino collected a missed shot off of the crossbar and passed it in to Garcia, who sent it by the Elmhurst keeper for her seventh goal of the season.

The Bulldogs enter Saturday with a similar record to Augie, sitting at 6-5-3 overall on the season. Adrian is unbeaten in their last two games, defeating St. Mary's (Ind.) before earning a draw with Calvin last time out. The Bulldogs have one common opponent with the Vikings this season, falling to Trine by a score of 1-0. Trine defeated Augustana 4-0 in Rock Island earlier this season.

Saturday will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m from Thorson-Lucken Field. Live video and stat links can be found here.
