ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The Augustana men's soccer team will welcome in the Monmouth Fighting Scots on Wednesday, September 22nd at Thorsen-Lucken Field as they look to pick up their second consecutive win overall.

The two teams met last back in 2016 in Monmouth that resulted in a 3-1 victory at home for the Fighting Scots. The game was a part of a home-and-home series in 2015 and 2016, where each of the two teams were victorious at home. The Vikings defeated the Scots at Thorsen-Lucken Field in 2015 by a final score of 3-1. Wednesday's matchup will be their first meeting since.

Monmouth enters the game winless on the year at 0-2-2. Both the Vikings and Scots have a common opponent this season in Coe, with Augustana winning their game against them by a final of 2-0. The Fighting Scots tied the Kohawks on the road 1-1 back on September 15th. Monmouth was defeated by Dubuque 8-0 in their most recent contest.

Augustana will be looking to make it two straight wins overall as they are coming off a thrilling 1-0 double-overtime loss over Knox. The team withstood a 20-7 shot disparity and sent in a golden-goal winner off of the foot of Nick Dispensa in the 105th minute to steal the win. The Vikings sit at 3-2 on the season and will play Monmouth on Wednesday before beginning conference play on Saturday, September 25th.

Game Coverage vs. Knox Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
