ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Augustana Vikings women's soccer team has been selected fourth in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) preseason poll. Voting was completed by each of the CCIW's head soccer coaches. Each coach votes for the eight other schools in the conference in order of predicted finish. Points are assigned in reverse order of voting (eight points for first, seven for second, etc.). Coaches do not vote for their own teams.
Because of the issues related to COVID-19, the women's soccer team played just seven scrimmages during the 2020 season. In 2019, the last full season in the CCIW, the Vikings finished 10-4-3 overall and 5-3-0 in the conference play. Augustana has qualified for 16 out of the 18 CCIW Tournaments held.
The 2021 season will get underway on Sept. 1 when Augustana hosts the University of Chicago at 5 p.m. This year's conference slate will start later in the month when the Vikings host Carroll on Sept. 25.
