NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's basketball team has been projected to finish fifth in the CCIW during the upcoming 2021-22 season. Voting is done by the CCIW's head men's basketball coaches. Each coach votes for the eight other schools in the conference in order of predicted finish. Points are assigned in reverse order of voting (eight points for first, seven for second, etc.). Coaches do not vote for their own teams.

The Vikings earned a total of 34 points, eight points behind North Central and four ahead of Carthage. Illinois Wesleyan was projected to win the CCIW this season after receiving 59 total points and four first place votes. Elmhurst and Wheaton tied for second. All three of those teams are ranked in the top ten nationally entering the 2021-22 season.

Augustana is coming off of a 6-4 conference record in an abbreviated 2020-21 season. The team placed fourth in conference after ten games played last season. The Vikings open up the 2021-22 season on Saturday, November 6 at No. 17 ranked UW-Oshkosh.
