NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Augustana women's volleyball (9-20, 2-6) earned their ninth win of the season and second in conference play tonight with a clean sweep of North Central (7-10, 2-6).
 
The Vikings played arguably their cleanest match of the season and performed best in the clutch moments of tonight's victory. Augie took the first set 25-22 despite a late charge from North Central, then expanded their advantage and won the second set 25-17. Finally, the Cardinals provided another scare, but the Vikings held firm and completed the victory.
 
Emily Schipper had another standout performance with 14 kills and four service aces to lead Augie in both categories. Sydney Krueger also recorded four service aces of her own. Olivia Doak continued her solid play with 16 assists while Annalise Peterson added 14. Grace Vranicar also played a great match with 18 digs to pace Augie on defense.
 
Augustana women's volleyball will finish their season this weekend with the Pumpkin Bash tournament at home. The Vikings will take on Benedictine and Simpson on Friday, Oct. 29 for Senior Night and finish the weekend on Saturday afternoon with a match versus Edgewood.
