WHEATON, Ill. – Augustana women's volleyball (5-18, 0-5) dropped a CCIW match at the Wheaton Thunder (13-8, 5-0) earlier tonight. Wheaton sealed the win in three straight sets.
Augustana put up their biggest fight in the first set but lost 25-18. The second and third periods were dominated by Wheaton with final scores of 25-11 and 25-18.
The Vikings were led by
Lexis Miller's 12 kills followed by
Emily Schipper's nine. Schipper also recorded double-digit digs with 10 and Augie's only service ace. Elsewhere,
Olivia Doak made 21 total assists while
Grace Vranicar recorded a team-high 13 digs.
Augustana will venture out of the CCIW for their next match when the Spartans from the University of Dubuque visit on Friday, Oct. 15.
