Augustana's 13-12 overtime loss to Loras.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill.— Erin Conley's free-position goal a minute into overtime lifted Loras to a 13-12 win over Augustana Wednesday at Thorson-Lucken Field. The Vikings dropped to 1-2 on the season, while the Duhawks improved to 3-1.

Trailing 10-7 with less than 15 minutes to play, Augustana ran off four straight goals to take its first lead since early in the game. Freshman Cassidy Petrie (Naperville North HS, Naperville, Ill.) started the run with a free-position goal at the 14:16 mark. Sandra Pielechaty (Taft HS, Chicago, Ill.) and Margaret Cecilio (Archbishop Mitty HS, San Jose, Calif.) scored consecutive unassisted goals to tie it with 10:15 remaining and Kathryn Hettiger (Carmel HS, Carmel, Ind.) scored off a Pielechaty assist 50 seconds later to give the Vikings an 11-10 lead.

Olivia Flynn scored for Loras with seven minutes to play, but Hettiger regained the lead for the hosts a minute later when she parlayed a Lauren Amella (Whitney Young HS, Chicago, Ill.) assist into a goal that put Augustana on top 12-11.

Flynn's goal tied it with 2:42 left in regulation and Conley scored the game winner on a free position try a minute into the first overtime.

Cecilio, Petrie and Hettiger each scored as the Vikings took a 3-1 lead 10 minutes in, but the Duhawks went up 5-3 with four straight goals—including two by Flynn—in a span of less than five minutes. Tallies by Hettiger and Cecilio tied it before Clare Brunn's goal put the visitors up 6-5 at intermission.

Brunn scored the first goal of the second half and Conley added one to give Loras an 8-5 edge. The teams then traded four goals—with Pielechaty and Hettiger scoring for Augustana—before the Vikings ran off their four in a row.

Hettiger finished with five goals and Cecilio three. Pielechaty and Amella each had a pair of assists. Hettiger had a team-high seven draw controls and snared four ground balls, as did goalie Courtney Veitch (Lake Zurich HS, Hawthorn Woods, Ill.). Veitch made 11 saves.

Flynn scored a game-high six goals for the Duhawks and goalie Lydia Phelps recorded 11 saves.

Augustana outshot its guests by a 31-29 margin, although Loras had a 28-19 edge in ground balls. The Vikings controlled 15 of 27 draws, but committed 23 turnovers to 20 for the Duhawks.

Next up for Coach C.J. Holder's crew is a Saturday, March 14 contest at Wisconsin-River Falls. First draw is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
