2019 msoc review
Vikings finish 6-7-2 on the season and 3-4-1 and tied for sixth in the CCIW; best overall record since 2014; best conference winning percentage since 2010; Matt Allen named team's Player of the Year

Augustana wrapped up the 2019 men's soccer season with an overall record of 6-7-2 and a CCIW mark of 3-4-1. Coach Mick Regan's club posted the program's best record since 2014 and its best winning percentage in the league since 2010.

Senior Matt Allen (Batavia HS, Batavia, Ill.) had two assists in the Vikings' first win of the season—a 3-0 victory over Beloit on September 14—and scored the only goal of the next match (September 21) on a penalty kick as Augustana downed Coe 1-0. Allen had a goal and an assist in a 2-1 win over Carroll on October 5 and both goals in a 2-0 victory over Millikin on October 19.

Junior Salah Aghlaf (Sabrine HS, Casablanca, Morocco) had two goals and an assist in a 3-1 win over Wisconsin-Platteville on October 23 and the game-winner in the final minute of the second overtime as the Vikings captured their season finale 2-1 at Carthage on November 2.

Allen led Augustana in scoring this year with five goals and 14 points and was named the team's Player of the Year. He tied Aghlaf for the team lead in assists with four each. Aghlaf ranked second on the team with four goals and 12 points. Junior Justin Murphy (Glenbard East HS, Lombard, Ill.), in his first season of collegiate soccer, finished with five points on a goal and three assists. All of Murphy's assists came in CCIW play, tying him for the conference lead. Sophomore Maxim Hamers (Gemeentelijk Gymnasium Hilversum, Blaricum, Netherlands) had a goal and an assist for three points.

Senior Jeremy Klaber (Stevenson HS, Buffalo Grove, Ill.) played every minute in goal (1409:24) this year and posted a 6-7-2 record with a goals against average of 1.66 and a .740 save percentage. He led the CCIW with 43 saves and his overall average of 4.93 saves per match is the sixth-best single-season mark in program history. He recorded four shutouts, tied for seventh-best all-time at Augustana.

Senior Daniel Artman (Schaumburg HS, Hanover Park, Ill.) and juniors Sander Soerhaug (Vardafjell VGS, Haugesund, Norway) and Bennett Tomalin (Memorial HS, Madison, Wis.) keyed the defense in front of Klaber.
