PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Augustana split a pair of neutral-site matches Saturday, falling in three sets to Wisconsin Lutheran and defeating Bethany Lutheran in four at Williams Fieldhouse on the campus of Wisconsin-Platteville. The Vikings moved to 4-7 on the year and will open CCIW play on Wednesday, September 14 versus North Central in Naperville, Illinois.

WISCONSIN LUTHERAN 3, AUGUSTANA 0 (25-19, 25-9, 25-23)

Senior Grace Bialobok (Homewood-Flossmoor HS, Homewood, Ill.) had three kills as Coach Kelly Bethke's outfit took a 14-9 lead in set one. Wisconsin Lutheran answered with five straight points to tie it. The Vikings didn't surrender the lead until a Abby Raasch kill put the Warriors on top 20-19 and WLC claimed the next five points to finish off a 25-19 win.

After the teams traded service errors to open game two, Dayton Pye's ace gave the Warriors a 2-1 lead that they'd never relinquish. Set point in a 25-9 WLC win came when Alyssa and Jenna Charron teamed up on a block.

Senior Mady Glatz (Morton HS, Morton, Ill.) had three aces as Augustana took a 6-1 third-set lead. The Warriors fought back to achieve ties at 17, 18, 19, 20 and 23-all, but didn't grab the lead until an Alyssa Charron kill put them up 24-23. Ally Goba followed with an ace for match point.

Bialobok led the Vikings with nine kills. Sophomore Olivia Doak (Crystal Lake Central HS, Crystal Lake, Ill.) had 14 assists and Glatz finished with four aces. All were match bests. Junior Jessica Nguyen (Kaneland HS, Elburn, Ill.) led the Augustana with 11 digs.

Mercedes Pye and Jenna Charron had seven kills apiece to pace WLC. Goba's 21 digs were a match high.

AUGUSTANA 3, BETHANY LUTHERAN 1 (13-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-15)

Augustana bounced back from a first-set loss to win three straight in its second match of the day.

Bethany Lutheran closed game one on a 19-3 run. Haley Domonoske and Alexis Morsching combined on a set-point block that gave BLC a 25-13 win.

The Vikings evened the match at a set apiece with a 25-16 win in game two. Bialobok started things off with a kill and Augustana would never relinquish the lead. Bethke's crew claimed the final six points with Doak setting Bialobok for a kill and set point.

A Brooke Harmon (Lindbergh HS, St. Louis, Mo.) kill gave the Vikings the lead for good in game three at 19-18. They went on to capture seven of the last ten points on their way to a 25-21 win. Set point came via a Bethany Lutheran attack error.

Taylar Jenks' kill put BLC on top 7-4 in set four, but Augustana responded by taking five straight points. A kill by senior Taylor Steger (Red Wing HS, Goodhue, Minn.) put the Vikings up 8-7 and they would lead the rest of the way. The final margin of 25-15 was the largest of the game and match point came on a bad set by BLC.

Bialobok added another dozen kills, sharing match-high honors with Bethany Lutheran's Megan Rutt. Harmon added six kills, along with six aces and three blocks. Doak's 19 assists and Nguyen's 22 digs were both match bests.
