Holder's program recognized
Carla Bennett (Marian Catholic HS, South Holland, Ill.),
Christina McCabe (Maine South HS, Park Ridge, Ill.),
Emily Lucnik (Schaumburg HS, Schaumburg, Ill.) and
Bailey Aasen (Park HS, Cottage Grove, Minn.) at halftime as part of Senior Day festivities on a wet and windy afternoon. By the time the celebration took place, Augustana already led 15-0.
Lucnik assisted on a goal by freshman
Kathryn Hettiger (Carmel HS, Carmel, Ind.) a half-minute in that started the day's scoring. By the 25:53 mark of the first half, Hettiger had three goals and Bennett had three assists and the Vikings led 5-0.
Aasen got in the act with a free position goal 20 seconds later and Bennett's first tally of the afternoon made it 7-0 with 23:17 left in the first half.
McCabe scored three more times and Lucnik twice more as the lead reached 14-0 before Holder had her team slow the pace of play. Freshman
Sydney Rector (Fishers HS, Fishers, Ind.) scored the only goal in the final 12½ minutes of the half and the hosts led 15-0 at the break.

Margaret Cecilio (Archbishop Mitty HS, San Jose, Calif.) and junior
Lauren Amella (Whitney Young HS, Chicago, Ill.) had second-half goals before McCabe scored off an Aasen assist with 1:43 to play to account for the final.
McCabe finished with five goals. Lucnik scored three goals and had two assists, along with team highs of seven ground balls and four caused turnovers. Bennett scored twice, dished out three assists, controlled a team-high six draws and forced three turnovers and Aasen finished with a goal and two helpers. Hettiger contributed three goals and five draw controls.
Goalie
Courtney Veitch (Lake Zurich HS, Hawthorn Woods, Ill.) faced only two shots, neither of which was put on cage.
The shutout was the Vikings' first in three years to the day. Augustana defeated Carroll 22-0 on April 27, 2016.
