SEWANEE, Tenn. – Augustana fell behind 7-0 at Sewanee Wednesday and could never recover, falling 16-5 at Hardee-McGee Field. Both teams are now 1-2 on the season.
Sophomore Matthew Lampasona
scored twice Wednesday, but Augustana
dropped a 16-5 decision at Sewanee.
Hayden Hunt scored twice as the Tigers jumped in front 4-0 after one quarter.
Will Pratt sandwiched man-up goals around Daniel Burnham's even-strength tally to give the hosts a 7-0 advantage with six minutes left in the half. Freshman
Travis Hastings (Littleton HS, Englewood, Colo.) got the Vikings on the board at the 4:31 mark before Pratt's fourth goal made it 8-1 Sewanee. Sophomore
Trever Moore (Naperville Central HS, Naperville, Ill.) found the net a minute and a half before halftime and the Tigers took an 8-2 lead to intermission.

Matthew Lampasona (Oak Forest HS, Oak Forest, Ill.) swapped goals in the third quarter to make it 9-3 Tigers going to the fourth. Junior
William Reece (Hudson HS, Hudson, Wis.) assisted on Lampasona's score.
Senior
Jason Van Dyck (Crystal Lake South HS, Crystal Lake, Ill.) opened the scoring in the final period with an unassisted goal that pulled the Vikings to within five (9-4), but Sewanee answered with five straight to put the game away. Lampasona recorded Augustana's final goal at the 3:51 mark, before the Tigers scored twice more.

Matt Pierson (Montini HS, Downers Grove, Ill.) had a team-high four ground balls and classmate
Cameron Duffy (Glenbrook South HS, Glenview, Ill.) played 54 minutes in goal, recording 16 saves before exiting.
Pratt's four goals led the Tigers, who won 18 of 23 faceoffs and led 63-29 in shots and 35-24 in ground balls. Sewanee committed 19 turnovers to 25 for Augustana.
On Tuesday, March 5, the Vikings are on the road again in Holland, Michigan to face Hope in a 5:00 p.m. contest.
