GEORGETOWN, Texas – Southwestern used a 7-1 run at the end of the first half to erase a 6-3 deficit and went on to a 22-10 win over Augustana Wednesday at Varsity Field. The Vikings dropped to 1-1 on the season, while the host Pirates improved to 2-2.

After a Natasha Perez-Krause goal for Southwestern, freshman
Margaret Cecilio (Archbishop Mitty HS, San Jose, Calif.) had consecutive goals, assisted by classmates Hettiger and
Cassie Kruse (Hinsdale Central HS, Clarendon Hills, Ill.), respectively. Pielechaty's unassisted goal at 17:04 of the first half gave the Vikings a 6-3 advantage.
Garcia's free position goal started a string of six straight by Southwestern. Freshman
Sydney Rector (Fishers HS, Fishers, Ind.) scored with three minutes left in the half to pull Augustana to within 9-7, but Pirate Johnee Wolter found the net just before the halftime horn to give her team a 10-7 lead at intermission.
Southwestern scored the first three goals of the second half and although Aasen scored twice and Hettiger added another goal, the Vikings couldn't slow down the Pirates. The hosts scored six times in the last 11 minutes to account for the final.
