Vista at Rollins Stadium. Coach Scott Mejia's squad improved to 7-1-1 on the season, while the host Beavers fell to 1-6.

The Vikings took the lead in the second minute when senior Jordyn Sundberg (Aurora Central Catholic HS, Oswego, Ill.) headed in Abby Wendell's (Hersey HS, Arlington Heights, Ill.) corner from the left side. The goal was Sundberg's second of the season, while Wendell was credited with her fourth assist.

Three minutes later, junior Lauren Muzzalupo (St. Charles North HS, St. Charles, Ill.) took a short right-side cross from senior Karleen Gomez (Grayslake HS, Hainesville, Ill.) and scored from 15 yards straight on to make it 2-0.

Gomez and Muzzalupo were in on the scoring action again in the seventh minute. Buena Vista keeper McKeely Tjaden came 27 yards out to challenge Gomez on a breakaway. She was able to stop Gomez's try, but the rebound went to Muzzalupo, who drilled it into the empty net from 37 yards straight on. The goal was her team-leading fifth of the year.

Sophomore Cameron Kekelik (Munster HS, Munster, Ind.) made it 4-0 in the eighth minute. She took a short feed from Gomez and found the upper right corner from 25 yards out on the left side.

Augustana piled up a 15-3 edge in shots during the first half and took the 4-0 lead to intermission.

Junior Jenna Noesen (Bartlett HS, Bartlett., Ill.) completed the day's scoring, tallying her first collegiate goal in the 74th minute. Gomez redirected Anna Bross' (Batavia HS, Aurora, Ill.) long cross from the left side and Noesen was there to finish it off from 10 yards out.

The Vikings outshot BV 27-6 for the match, putting 17 tries on frame. Tjaden recorded a dozen saves. Augustana sophomore Sydney Ion (Aquinas HS, La Crosse, Wis.) stopped a pair of shots in 79 minutes before exiting in favor of freshman Faith Rund (Monticello HS, Monticello, Ill.). The Vikings led 3-1 in corners and the Beavers committed 12 fouls to nine for Augustana.

Mejia's side jumps back into CCIW action on Wednesday, September 26, welcoming North Central to Thorson-Lucken Field for a 7:00 p.m. match.
