ALBION, Mich. – Albion jumped in front 9-1 Saturday and went on to post a 19-7 win over Augustana at the Davis Athletic Complex. Coach C.J. Durham's squad dropped to 5-2 on the season, while the host Britons improved to 3-2 on the year.

Cait Gaitley scored twice in the first 6:04 of the game as Albion took a 4-0 lead. Junior Bailey Aasen (Park HS, Cottage Grove, Minn.) got the Vikings on the board at 22:28 of the first half with an assist from classmate Christina McCabe (Maine South HS, Park Ridge, Ill.). However, Jade Barrett had a pair of goals as the Britons answered with five in a row. Lauren Wiegand's free position tally gave Albion a 9-1 lead with 10:41 left in the period.

Tracy Keane's (Bethel HS, Bethel, Conn.) free position goal at the 4:47 mark stemmed the tide temporarily, but Barrett and Gaitley each scored in the final two and a half minutes to send the hosts to intermission with an 11-2 advantage.

Aasen opened the second half with a goal off a Carla Bennett (Marian Catholic HS, South Holland, Ill.) assist, but eight points (11-3) was as close as Augustana would get. The Britons never allowed the visitors to score consecutive goals in the entire contest.

Aasen's three goals led the Vikings. Keane added a pair and McCabe had two assists. Bennett controlled four draws. Annalia Fowler (York HS, Elmhurst, Ill.) went the distance in goal and recorded 13 saves and a team-high four ground balls.

Gaitley led Albion with six goals. Barrett and Shannaon Kahl added four apiece.

On Sunday, March 18, Durham's crew travels to Angola, Indiana to face Trine in a game scheduled for 11:00 a.m. EDT.
