ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana honored seniors Dylan Sortillo (Bettendorf HS, Bettendorf, Iowa) and A.J. Dollmeyer (Polo HS, Polo, Ill.) Saturday night and junior Chrishawn Orange (Jacobs HS, Algonquin, Ill.) became the 26th member of the school's 1,000-point club as the Vikings downed their namesakes from North Park 77-60 at Carver Center. Coach Grey Giovanine's 10th-ranked club improved to 19-5 on the season and 11-4 in the CCIW, while North Park fell to 5-19 overall and 1-14 in the league.

The visitors hit four of their first five three-point attempts to keep it tight early. Colin Lake's second trey of the night at 15:31 of the first half pulled NPU even at 12-all, the only tie of the night. Dollmeyer answered with a layup off an inbounds play and Augustana would lead the rest of the way.

Aaron Reed's layup at the 10:42 mark cut North Park's deficit to 20-19, but Augustana responded with a 12-3 run to push the margin to double digits at 32-22. A Sortillo three from the left corner capped the spurt. NPU got as close as six (36-30) on a pair of Lake free throws, but junior Brett Benning (Dakota HS, Davis, Ill.) hit a three-pointer and added a conventional three-point play to send Augustana to the locker room with a 42-30 advantage.

A Benning steal led to an Orange layup to start the second half and Orange added a three-pointer following a Donovan Ferguson (Downers Grove South HS, Darien, Ill.) block to push the margin to 47-30.

A Dyron Woods' bucket with 11:41 to play pulled the visitors to within 53-38, but Dollmeyer had four points in an 11-0 spurt that gave Augustana its biggest lead of the night at 64-38. Two Orange free throws with 5:41 left matched it at 71-45.

With 3:17 to play, Orange hit the first of two foul shots, giving him 16 points on the night and an even 1,000 for his career. He becomes the 26th Viking to reach the milestone and just the seventh to do it before his senior season. He also finished the evening with five rebounds three assists, a steal and no turnovers in 31 minutes.

Junior Nolan Ebel (Regis Jesuit HS, Denver, Colo.) led the hosts with 17 points, along with four assists and two steals.
