weekend in Michigan 2-0, while the Knights fell to 1-2 on the year.

Calvin's Carlos Amoros-Gutierrez hit the second of two free throws with 8:09 to play, pulling his team to within 62-58, but five straight points by Chrishawn Orange (Jacobs HS, Algonquin, Ill.) sparked an 8-0 Augustana run. After Orange scored on a layup, Pierson Wofford (Springfield Lutheran HS, Springfield., Ill.) found him near the top of the key for a three-pointer that pushed the Viking lead to 67-58. On the next trip, Joe Kellen (Rockford Lutheran HS, Rockford, Ill.) fed Wofford for what turned into a conventional three-point play and a 70-58 Augustana advantage.

Austin Bykerk's jumper stemmed the tide temporarily, but Wofford hit a short jumper and then Nolan Ebel (Regis Jesuit HS, Denver, Colo.) scored the Vikings' next 10 points on a pair of three-pointers and four free throws as the margin ballooned to 82-62 with 2:18 remaining. Two Brett Benning (Dakota HS, Davis, Ill.) free throws and an emphatic putback dunk by Donovan Ferguson (Downers Grove South HS, Darien, Ill.) wrapped up Augustana's scoring for the day before the Knights' Brandon Harrison hit a trey to account for the final.

Derrick DeVries scored five points as the hosts took a 7-2 lead early. Wofford hit a three-pointer and Ebel and Ferguson layups as the Vikings took their first lead at 9-7. Tony DeWitte scored five straight Calvin points as the Knights went ahead one final time at 16-14. However, when Orange answered with a trey, Augustana had the lead for good. Ferguson's follow up with 6:39 left gave the visitors their biggest advantage (28-20) of the first half. An Orange layup sent the teams to the locker room with the Vikings on top 39-33.

Augustana finally pushed the margin to double digits (48-38) on a Kellen layup with 15:43 to play, but Calvin responded with six straight points. Micah Martin's (Iowa City HS, Iowa City, Iowa) old-fashioned three-point play with 10:46 remaining put the Vikings back up by nine (60-51), but the Knights answered again, with a 7-2 run capped by Amoros-Gutierrez's free throw at the 8:09 mark.

Coach Grey Giovanine's outfit enjoyed a hot-shooting afternoon, connecting on 33 of 63 (.524) field goal attempts and hitting .593 from the floor in the second half. Augustana hit eight of 18 (.444) three-point tries and 12 of 15 (.800) at the foul line. They also had a 38-30 advantage on the boards.

Ebel led four Vikings in double figures with a game-high 23 points. Orange and Wofford added 14 apiece and Martin tallied 10, along with six boards, four blocked shots and two steals. Ferguson snared a game-high eight rebounds and Benning (nine points) grabbed seven. Orange and Lucas Simon (Notre Dame HS, Chicago, Ill.) each had three assists.

Calvin shot .390 (23-59) from the field, .318 (7-22) from beyond the arc and .875 (14-16) from the free throw line. Thad Shymanski led the Knights with 17 points, while DeVries and Tony DeWitte added 15 and 11, respectively.

Augustana is back in action on Wednesday, November 21. The Vikings will take on Loras in Dubuque, Iowa, with tipoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
