Whallon tallied his third goal of the season in minute 14. Andrew Wade's free kick from near midfield found Whallon, who headed it in to make it 1-0 Thunder. The assist was Wade's third of the year.
It was still 1-0 when the sides went to intermission, despite a 10-4 advantage for Wheaton in shots. Augustana keeper
Jeremy Klaber (Stevenson HS, Buffalo Grove, Ill.) recorded a pair of saves in the opening period.
The first of two weather delays occurred in the 64th minute and lasted for 35 minutes. The second, with 19 minutes remaining in the match, lasted more than an hour.

Salah Aghlaf (Casablanca, Morocco) got off the Vikings' only shot after play resumed. It went wide in the 82nd minute. Augustana was awarded a corner in the final minute, but couldn't parlay

The Thunder finished with a 20-5 edge in shots. Neither side exhibited great accuracy, with four of Wheaton's tries put on frame to just one for the Vikings. Klaber finished the night with three saves, while Hasten Biddlecome made one for the hosts.
Augustana led in corners 5-4 and committed 11 fouls to a dozen for the Thunder.
