NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Coach Grey Giovanine's Augustana basketball program will have a target on its back again this year, as the CCIW coaches have picked the Vikings as the favorites to win the 2018-19 conference title. Giovanine's crew earned 63 points and seven first-place votes in the canvass of league coaches. Illinois Wesleyan, which shared last year's conference title with Augustana, was picked for second with 55 points and one first-place nod. Wheaton, picked for third, received the other first-place vote and 50 points.
 
A CCIW title this year would be the Vikings' fifth in a row, a feat that has never been accomplished in the 72-year history of the league.
