AUGUSTANA 6, ADRIAN 5 (8)
Bailey Brooks
(Dakota Ridge HS, Littleton, Colo.) singled in
Kelsey Heiland (Mountain Vista HS, Highlands Ranch, Colo.) with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth, lifting Augustana to a 6-5 win over Adrian. Heiland began the inning on second base as part of international tiebreaker rules. She moved to third on a passed ball and scored on Brooks' infield hit.
With the scored tied 2-2 after six, the Bulldogs appeared to take control when they plated three runs in the top of the seventh. Paige Cubberly's two-out, bases-loaded double did the damage.

Zayne Blumberg (Rock Canyon HS, Denver, Colo.) led off with an infield hit and scored one out later on another by
Rachel Anderson (Rochester HS, Rochester, Ill.). Junior

Haley Ruch (Lincoln-Way North HS, Frankfort Ill.) reached on an error, allowing two Augustana pinch-runners to score and tie the game.
Hofmann came on in relief of sophomore
Kelcie Fredrickson (Fisher HS, Foosland, Ill.) to start the eighth and set the Bulldogs down in order.
Madeline McGuire's
(Alleman HS, Rock Island, Ill.) sacrifice fly in the third scored Anderson and put the Vikings up 1-0. Adrian answered with single runs in the fourth and sixth to go up 2-1 before Augustana tied it on a Brooks sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth.
Anderson had three hits, including a triple, to pace the Viking offense.
AUGUSTANA 13, HOUGHTON 3
Augustana tallied four runs in the top of the first and never looked back in a 13-3 pasting of Houghton. With one out, Anderson tripled to left and Grandt followed with an RBI double to left. McGuire reached on a fielder's choice and she and Grandt scored on Hofmann's double to center. A Brooks sacrifice fly plated Hofmann with the final run of the inning.
The Vikings added single runs in the second and third. Freshman
Dina Falk (Lake Park HS, Bloomingdale, Ill.) led off the second with a triple and scored. In the third, her infield hit scored Heiland to make it 6-0.
After the Highlanders got to Hofmann for two runs in the third, Augustana tallied three in the top of the fourth. Brooks had a two-run double to center.
Sophomore
