BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan shot .645 from the field and .692 from three-point range in the first half Tuesday, bolting to a 62-31 halftime lead on its way to a 107-77 win over Augustana at the Shirk Center. The loss drops the Vikings into a three-way tie with North Park and Carthage for the CCIW title at 11-5. Coach Grey Giovanine's club finishes the regular season 18-7 overall and will face North Park Friday, February 24 in a CCIW Tournament semifinal in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

After a pair of Trevor Siebring free throws opened the scoring, a Jacob Johnston (Erie HS, Cordova, Ill.) bucket tied things at 2-all. Siebring answered with a basket of his own and the hosts would lead the rest of the way. The first of five Brady Rose three-pointers in the opening stanza gave IWU a 12-4 advantage three and a half minutes in.

The first of three first-half Colin Bonnett treys pushed the margin to double digits at 18-7 with 14:02 left in the period. Rose's third triple of the half gave the Titans a 34-17 lead at the 9:04 mark and his conventional field goal with 10 seconds left sent the teams to halftime with IWU on top 62-31. Rose (5-5) and Bonnett (3-3) were perfect from beyond the arc in the opening 20 minutes.

Chrishawn Orange (Jacobs HS, Algonquin, Ill.) had five points as Augustana opened the second half with a 13-4 run that trimmed the deficit to 66-44, but a Bonnett conventional three-point play shifted the momentum back to the Titans. Nick Coleman's three-pointer pushed the margin back over 30 (83-52). A Siebring layup with 7:01 to play gave IWU its biggest lead at 97-61 and Alec Bausch's jumper at the 4:30 mark pushed the Titans over the 100-point mark.

Orange led the Vikings with 19 points, four rebounds and three assists. Johnston added a dozen points and Micah Martin (Iowa City HS, Iowa City, Iowa) 10. Rose led five Wesleyan players in double figures with 24 points. Bonnett finished with 19.

Augustana finished the night 30 of 58 (.517) from the floor, six of 14 (.429) from three-point range and 11-17 (.647) from the foul line. IWU shot .587 (37-63) from the field, .652 (15-23) from beyond the arc and .857 (18-21) from the free throw line.
