Augustana falls 4-0 at 17th-ranked North Park

Senior Grant Bracken and Augustana dropped a 4-0 decision
Saturday at 17th-ranked North Park.

CHICAGO, Ill. – Carel Kuzona scored twice Saturday, as North Park defeated Augustana 4-0 at Holmgren Athletics Complex. The Vikings from Rock Island fell to 1-7-2 on the year and 0-2 in the CCIW, while the 17th-ranked Vikings from Chicago improved to 10-1 overall and 5-0 in the league.
 
Kuzona got the hosts on the board in the 35th minute. He used an assist from Marrion Alvaro to tally his ninth goal of the season.
 
In the 42nd minute Kuzona added his 10th of the year to make it 2-0. Shatil Khoury was credited with the assist and North Park took that lead to the halftime break.
 
The hosts extended their advantage in the 51st minute. Pedar Nalum Olsen parlayed an Erik Lundeen assist into his eighth goal of the season.
 
North Park added the final goal of the match in minute 71. Khoury scored unassisted from 20 yards out. The goal was his fifth of the season.
 
North Park outshout its guests 18-2 and put 11 of its attempts on frame. The hosts had a 5-1 edge in corners as well.
 
Sophomore Jeremy Klaber (Stevenson HS, Buffalo Grove, Ill.) went the distance in goal for Augustana, recording seven saves.
 
Coach Mick Regan's squad is back in action on Wednesday, October 11. The Vikings travel to Naperville, Illinois to take on North Central in a 7:00 p.m. match.
