ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Four Vikings tallied three goals each Sunday, as Augustana downed Augsburg 20-1 at Thorson-Lucken Field. Coach Meredith Newman's club improved to 6-1 on the year, while the visiting Auggies suffered just their second loss in six outings.

Junior Anne Hopkins (Mother McAuley HS, Chicago, Ill.) scored the first of her three goals on the day less than a minute in, getting an assist from senior Emily Handrahan (Lake Zurich HS, Hawthorn Woods, Ill.) on the play. Handrahan would add five more helpers in the contest, equaling the fourth highest single-game total in program history.

Six more Vikings scored a goal each in the game's first nine minutes. Hopkins was the first Augustana player to log multiple goals. Her second of the day, with 20:36 remaining in the first half, made it 8-0 Vikings.

Junior Olivia Mayer (Libertyville HS, Green Oaks, Ill.) made it 13-0 in favor of the hosts with a goal at the 9:16 mark and that would remain the score as the teams went to halftime.

Four of Augustana's first five goals in the second half came while a player up. Senior Kaylee Nolan (Sandburg HS, Orland Park, Ill.) scored with the teams at even strength to make it 19-0 with 15:17 to play.

Helena Nguyen got Augsburg on the board with a free position goal at the 10:04 mark and Viking Nellie Bubb (Holy Family Catholic HS, Excelsior, Minn.) completed the scoring with her first tally of the season just before the final buzzer.

In addition to her six assists, Handrahan scored three goals, recording her second nine-point game in as many days. Hopkins, Nolan and senior Kendall Maduro (Neuqua Valley HS, Naperville, Ill.) each scored three times as well. Mayer scored twice and senior Rebecca Pollard (Westfield HS, Carmel, Ind.) had three assists and scored once herself.

Nolan controlled seven draws and was one of four Augustana players to collect two ground balls. Sophomore Analia Fowler (York HS, Elmhurst, Ill.) played the first half in goal, stopping two Auggie shots to earn the win. Senior Jenna Hoffman (Columbine HS, Littleton, Colo.) finished up and recorded one save.

The Vikings are back at Thorson-Lucken Field on Saturday, March 26. Newman's squad will host Concordia (Wis.) with first draw scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
