The Augustana men's basketball program has designated
the Sunday, November 27 game with Washington as
"Military Appreciation Day" in conjunction with the Troop
Dreams project.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – When the Augustana and Washington University men's basketball teams square off at Carver Center on Sunday, November 27, members of the military and their families will receive special recognition. The 3:00 p.m. contest has been designated a "Troop Dreams Military Appreciation Game," in conjunction with The Charity Stripe and the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association.

All current and former military personnel and their families will be admitted free of charge and recognized at the game between the Vikings, who tied a school record with 29 wins last year, and the Bears, who finished 15-10 in 2015-16. In addition rally towels and mini American flags will be on sale for $5 each. All proceeds collected will be presented to a deserving local military family selected by The Charity Stripe. The chosen family will be presented with the proceeds at an Augustana game later in the season.

The Charity Stripe—America's Community Service Project—was founded in 2007 to raise funds for charitable recipients. The Troop Dreams program focuses on making dreams and wishes come true for military families who have not been able to experience many of the joys Americans take for granted due to deployment, injury, disability and/or financial hardship.
