ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan took a 1 -0 lead in the ninth minute Wednesday and later put the match away with three goals in an 18-minute span, defeating Augustana 4-0 at Thorson-Lucken Field. The Vikings dropped to 8-8 on the season and 2-5 in CCIW, while the Titans improved to 10-5-2 overall and 6-1 in the league.
Skyler Tomko put the visitors on top with her sixth goal of the season in the ninth minute. Sarah Trach was credited with the assist.
In the 32nd minute, Kaitlin Chen converted a Flower Edington assist to give IWU a 2-0 advantage. The goal was Chen's third of the season.
Eight minutes later, Edington dished out another helper on Alison Seger's fifth goal of the season. The Titans took the 3-0 lead to the halftime break.
IWU extended the advantage to 4-0 in the 50th minute. Brittany Straznickas tallied her first goal of the season with the help of a Ellie Crabtree assist.
Illinois Wesleyan outshot the Vikings by an 11-5 margin, putting eight shots on frame to four for Augustana. The visitors also held a 4-1 edge in corners.

Grace Iaquinta (Lincoln East HS, Lincoln, Neb.) got off two shots for Augustana and put both on goal. Junior
Bailey Bradford (Deerfield HS, Riverwoods, Ill.) recorded four saves for the hosts. Titan starting keeper Katie Denney stopped one Viking shot in the first half and backup Dana Jourdan recorded three saves in the second.
Augustana will host Carthage in its 2016 season finale on Saturday, October 29 at 1:00 p.m.
