Junior Jessa Rizzo had a goal and an assist in Augustana's 4-0
win at Nebraska Wesleyan Saturday morning.

LINCOLN, Neb. – Augustana won its fourth consecutive match Saturday with a 4-0 win over Nebraska Wesleyan at Abel Stadium. Coach Scott Mejia's 22nd-ranked squad, which has outscored its opponents 26-1 during the winning streak, improved to 6-1 on the year. The Prairie Wolves fell to 3-3.
 
The visitors jumped in front in the 19th minute when senior Somer Druszkowski (Lincoln-Way Central HS, Manhattan, Ill.) tallied her second goal of the season. Sophomore Grace Iaquinta (Lincoln East HS, Lincoln, Neb.), playing in front of a hometown crowd, recorded her team-leading fourth assist on the play.
 
In the 36th minute, junior Jessa Rizzo (Fremd HS, Palatine, Ill.) took advantage of a Nebraska Wesleyan miscue to score her first goal of the season. Two minutes later, she assisted on freshman Andria Serra's (Alleman HS, Silvis, Ill.) seventh score of the year and Augustana took a 3-0 lead to halftime.
 
Two more Viking freshman teamed up for Augustana's final goal, with Karleen Gomez (Grayslake Central HS, Hainesville, Ill.) assisting on Jordyn Sundberg's (Aurora Central Catholic HS, Oswego, Ill.) first of the season in the 80th minute.
 
The Vikings posted their third consecutive shutout and have now gone 312 minutes since last being scored upon. Senior Meredith Chew (Paradise Valley HS, Phoenix, Ariz.) went 81 minutes in goal, recording two saves.
 
Augustana outshot the Prairie Wolves by a 17-4 margin, putting 11 on frame, compared to two for the hosts. The Vikings had a 3-2 edge in corners and were twice called for being offside.
 
Augustana will be back at home on Sunday, September 20, taking on Simpson in a 5:00 p.m. match at Thorson-Lucken Field.
