The Vikings swept the doubles to go up 3-0 early in the match. Freshmen
Samuel Totten (Normal University HS, Normal, Ill.) and
Eric Pohl (Fremd HS, Palatine, Ill.) beat Oliver Moews and Aleksander Vasic 8-2 at number one. Senior
Lawrence Palmer (Schiller International School, El Prat de Llobregat, Spain) and junior
Harald Olsson (Hersby Gymnasium, Stockholm, Sweden) beat Connor Sass and Ryan Doeckel 8-2 at number two. The number three team of sophomore
Connor Woolf (Evanston HS, Evanston, Ill.) and
Austin Schoeck (Alleman Catholic HS, Rock Island, Ill.) defeated Adam Winters and Alex Kohlmeier 8-4.
Only three singles matches were played to completion before the outcome was determined. Palmer beat Moews 6-0; 6-1 at number one and Pohl beat Vasic 6-0; 6-1 at number three. Schoeck picked up a 6-1; 6-0 win over Kohlmeier at number five.
Totten was leading Sass 6-2; 1-0 at number two when the match was finished. Junior
Patrick Lenz (Villanova Prep, Ojai, Calif.) had a 6-2; 2-0 lead on Winters at number four when play was halted and sophomore
Jonathon Elsey (York HS, Elmhurst, Ill.) had a 6-2; 3-0 over Tyler Ringle at number six.
Augustana is now 13-12 overall.
