Kelly Stelzer (Wheaton-Warrenville South HS, Wheaton, Ill.) to score 36 seconds later. Sophomore
Anne Hopkins (Mother McAuley HS, Chicago, Ill.) scored 37 seconds after Kargl's goal and Mayer tallied the Vikings' fourth goal in 1:40 off a Kargl assist to put her team up 8-3.
DePauw's Emma Flynn stemmed the tide temporarily, but junior
Kaylee Nolan (Sandburg HS, Orland Park, Ill.), Kargl and Hopkins scored in the final 2:14 of the half and Augustana had an 11-4 lead at the break.
The Tigers scored three goals in the first four minutes of the second period to cut the deficit to 11-7, but Augustana responded by scoring nine of the game's next 10 goals, including three straight by Handrahan at one point. Kargl also had three goals during that stretch.
Junior
Quinn Foley (Sandburg HS, Orland Park, Ill.) scored the Vikings' final goal off a
Maggie DelVecchio (Barrington HS, Barrington, Ill.) assist with 1:16 to play. DelVecchio had scored her first goal of the season earlier.
Carey Kunz's goal gave DePauw a 1-0 lead 2:15 into the game. Nolan and Mayer answered to put Augustana up 2-1. Tiger Nicole Gibson tied it before goals by Kargl and Mayer made it 4-2. Taylor Summers' goal at 11:29 of the first half drew the hosts within 4-3 before the Vikings' big run to close the half.
Augustana scored over 20 goals for the fourth consecutive game. Kargl led the way, finding the net six times, to go along with two assists. Mayer scored four times with one assist. Handrahan and Hopkins each had three goals. Handrahan's four assists were a team high and Hopkins dished out a pair of helpers. Noland had two goals and shared the team lead in ground balls (three) with junior
